Intro

If you want more people to sign up for your events, the best thing to do is make registration as easy as possible. Just the slightest hint of friction during the signup process is enough for some folks to drop off!

This Eye Security playbook illustrates how you can simplify the signup process for your audience by inviting your network via LinkedIn, using one-click registration links, and even using your email signature to promote events. ****

What you’ll learn

  • How to invite your contacts on LinkedIn to an upcoming event
  • Why you shouldn't ask people in your CRM to provide duplicate info
  • Ways to maximize the valuable real estate in your email signature

Expected Results

  • Drive 1K+ registrants for events
  • Improve current conversion rates for event signups
  • Expand your event marketing reach

Step 1: Add Your Event to LinkedIn and Invite Connections

Most, if not all, of your B2B audience members live on LinkedIn, so meet them there.

Start adding your virtual events to LinkedIn to supercharge awareness, and take advantage of the platform’s easy way to invite connections to those events. (You can also stream your events to LinkedIn Live to get more attendees on Event Day.)

Inviting audience members via LinkedIn is smart because the platform allows you to capture registrant info straight from LinkedIn. There are no extra steps to sign up for the registrant, ensuring a truly frictionless process. Plus, you get all of the data straight from LinkedIn that you can add to your email list!

And don't forget to ask any partners, speakers, or influencers you're working with for the event to promote the event this way. That's potentially thousands and thousands of new invitees who can learn about your event through people they’re connected with and trust.

How To Invite Your LinkedIn Network To an Event

  1. Go to your "Events" page and select the event
  2. Click "Share"
  3. Select "Invite" from the dropdown menu
  4. Search or filter to find the people you want to invite.
  5. Check the boxes next to those you want to invite and click "Invite." </aside>

Step 2: Leverage One-Click Email Registrations

If someone's already in your CRM, they might (understandably) be frustrated if they have to fill out a registration form providing information you should already have.

Make it a cinch for folks to sign up by integrating your event platform with your CRM and using one-click registration links. This allows people to skip the form by clicking a link that automatically signs them up for the webinar. Eye Security has seen that these registrants are just as committed to attending as those who take the time to fill out the entire form.

🪄 Pro Tip: Try using magic links to make it easy for people to attend the event as well. Each registrant gets an automatic calendar hold, complete with their very own magic link that takes them straight to the event when it's show time!

Step 3: Promote Events Using Your Email Signature

Get more eyes on your event by including a GIF or graphic in your email signature, complete with event details and a clickthrough to the event registration page.

Here are some examples:

You can see how these would immediately draw a reader's interest because they stand out from the typical email signature. Audience members who might be inclined to skip over broader promo emails may be inspired to sign up when they see the info coming directly from you.

Be sure to create on-brand registration pages so that when people click on your email signature link, they can immediately connect the dots between the graphic they saw and the event reg page. Visitors to the page should be able to immediately recognize that your company is hosting the event.
